CL0085 Chest lock set. Bronze. Roman, 1st century AD. Height: Statuettes and cover plate ca. 9,5cm each. Condition: Fragmentary but very fine. This almost complete, rare , and beautiful chest lock set consists of two hinged clasps in form of devine or heroic statuettes - one repaired in antiquity -, the main lock mechanism decorated with a head of Dionysos, two helmeted male heads, the figurine of a hair applied on it, a punched floral design, and three rosette nails for attachement.
