Plectrum handle.

Bronze.

Alexandria, ca. 3rd/2nd century BC.

Height: 7,7cm.

Condition: Excellent. Wonderful cuprit patina.

Rare bronze plectrum handle in form a negro servant holding a plate with a cooked duck. Plectra were devices for plucking the strings of musical instruments, for instance the lyre.

Provenance: Old German private collection.
