Patera is a shallow libation bowl usually with two handles made in clay or metal. It was used in religious ceremonial context. Our Patera’s long ribbed handle belonged to a bronze shallow libation bowl reminding of a saucepan. The ribbed handle ends in a Ram’s head, the neck collar inlaid with a silver wire. Nice smooth shiny green patina. An item very much appreciated by persons born in the zodiac sign of Aries.
On a custom made stand.
Condition: very good, nice patina
Provenance: Swiss art market of the early 90s.
