Greek black glazed askos

An askos (a Greek word) is a bulbous vessel usually in form of a duck. On its back it has a narrow spout attached to a handle. The name was askos was given due to its resemblance to a wineskin. They were used to store various liquids for domestic, religious and ceremonial purposes.
