Roman, ca. 1st/2nd century AD
A Rheinland-Pfalz, Boppard, Romano-Germanic face pot, with crude, exaggerated features. Larger face pots were typically used as an urn for cremation. Such face urns were locally produced in Britain and the Central European continent during the Roman period.
